Delegates attending the Asia Pacific Congress in Fetal Therapy (APCFT 2026) in Shanghai, China should check whether they require a visa before making travel arrangements. Visa requirements vary according to nationality, passport type, place of residence, travel route, and current policies of the Chinese authorities.
Check Whether You Need a Visa
Before applying for a visa, please first check whether you may be eligible for visa-free entry into China. Depending on your nationality and travel arrangements, you may qualify under one of the following categories:
- Mutual visa exemption agreements
- Unilateral visa-free entry policy
- 240-hour visa-free transit policy
- Entry with a valid Chinese residence permit
- Entry with a valid Chinese permanent resident permit
- Entry with a valid APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC), where applicable

Apply Through Official Chinese Visa Channels
If you are not eligible for visa-free entry, please apply for the appropriate visa through the official Chinese Embassy, Consulate, or China Visa Application Service Center serving your place of residence. Delegates should prepare all required documents according to the instructions of the relevant Chinese visa authority.

Request a Visa Facilitation Letter
Delegates who require a visa may request a visa facilitation letter to support their visa application during the registration process.
If you require an invitation letter, please complete your congress registration and submit the necessary request through the system or contact the APCFT Secretariat for assistance.
Please note that the APCFT 2026 Organizing Committee provides supporting documentation only. The Committee does not provide visa application services. Visa approval is subject to the decision of the relevant Chinese authorities.
Important Reminders
Apply Early
Visa processing times may vary depending on your country or region of application. Delegates requiring a visa are strongly encouraged to begin the application process as early as possible and ideally no later than three months before travel to China.
No Refund for Rejected Visa Applications
Please note that the congress registration fee is non-refundable if a visa application is rejected by the Chinese authorities. Delegates are responsible for ensuring that their visa application documents are complete, accurate, and submitted in good time.
Beware of Unauthorized Visa Services
APCFT 2026 does not appoint any third party to provide visa application services. Please be cautious of fraudulent emails or messages offering visa assistance, registration, or travel support in exchange for payment. If you are unsure whether a communication is legitimate, please verify the sender and contact the APCFT Secretariat directly.
