Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery Program

Program Description

This program provides registered nurses with comprehensive training in midwifery, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities needed to practice autonomously and collaboratively in diverse healthcare settings.

Duration of Program

  • 18 months

Program Intake

  • 1 – 2 intakes per year
  • The number of intake is planned according to the service need

Class Size

  • 40-50 students per intake

Entry Requirement

  • Registered nurse in Hong Kong

Teaching Medium

  • English / Chinese 

Mode of Study

  • Study block and clinical practicum

Venue of Study

  • Theoretical component : School of Midwifery, Prince of Wales Hospital
  • Clinical practicum : Obstetric units accredited as training site by the Midwives Council of Hong Kong

Arrangement of Staff Release

  • Full time HA employees will be granted paid study leave
  • Employees of Department of Health / Private hospital will be offered Training terms in accordance with the agreement made between HA and Department of Health / Private hospitals
