Biography

Dr.  David Yiu Leung CHAN is currently an assistant professor and IVF lab director in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Reproductive medicine Unit, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.  He obtained his D.Phil in University of Oxford in 2011. He trained as clinical embryologist in University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital in 2012. He joined CUHK as a Research Assistant Professor in 2016, certified as Senior Clinical Embryologist by European Society of Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) in 2019 and become the director of the IVF laboratories Unit in Prince of Wales Hospital in 2020.  Certified as High-Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) in 2024. He has published over 70 international peer-reviewed journals and obtained many external competitive grants and funding, totally granted amount more than 20 million HKD since joining the CUHK. He is the council member of the Hong Kong Society of Reproductive Medicine (HKSRM).  He is also the deputy head of the Special Interest Group (SIG) of Andrology, Education committee member and country representative of Hong Kong in the Asia-Pacific Initiatives for Reproduction (ASPIRE).
