Established in 1996, the Fetal Medicine Unit of The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong has become the largest fetal medicine centre in Hong Kong. The Unit is accredited by both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as the subspecialty training centre. Besides local trainees, the unit also attracts many doctors and scientists from China and various countries to come for training.

The unit has introduced to Hong Kong a number of new services and treatments including:

SafeT21 non-invasive DNA testing
Selective fetocide using radiofrequency
